Some suites feel closer to private apartments than hotel rooms, with towering ceilings, thick fabrics and enough atmosphere to make you consider ordering a second nightcap purely for architectural reasons. The experience is unapologetically rich. Travelers looking for clean lined contemporary Belgian design may find it excessive. Others will adore the fact that it dares to create a complete world instead of another interchangeable luxury interior in beige tones. Late evening suits the hotel best. After dinner, Kortrijk becomes calm, almost intimate, and returning to Cobergher through the quiet streets feels wonderfully old fashioned in the best possible way.
