Hotel Corazón
Carretera de Deià, km. 56, 7, 07100 Sóller, Illes Balears, Spain
About
In Sóller, where orange fortunes once built elegant townhouses and the mountains long kept the valley deliciously apart from the rest of Mallorca, Hotel Corazón offers one of the island’s most characterful stays. This is not legacy luxury polished by committees. It is bohemian, eccentric, and refreshingly self assured. Set above town in a restored finca, Corazón looks across the Sóller valley toward the UNESCO protected Tramuntana range. The setting alone is persuasive: terraces, ancient stone walls, citrus groves, and light that seems professionally arranged. Down below, the historic wooden tram still rattles toward Port de Sóller, one of Europe’s great small pleasures. The hotel was created by photographer Kate Bellm and artist Ed Templeton, which explains why the place feels composed rather than decorated. Limewashed walls, vintage furniture, handmade textiles, ceramics with personality, books chosen by humans. Many hotels buy style. Corazón appears to have collected it. The name means heart, and for once the branding is accurate. There is warmth here, a little irreverence too. Expect yoga, slow mornings, attractive people pretending not to be attractive, and food built around fresh produce with Mediterranean clarity. If you need marble lobbies and orchestral turn down service, continue searching. If you prefer a hotel with views, soul, and stories to tell over dinner, Corazón is difficult to forget.
